Yashasvi stitched 77 runs with Ruturaj Gaikwad(58) for the opening wicket before getting out in the sixth over.India posted a mammoth 235 for 4 and restricted Australia to 191 for 9 to register a 44-run win and go 2-0 up in the five-match series.
For his whirlwind knock, the 21-year-old Mumbai batsman was adjudged Man of the Match.

After receiving the Man of the Match award, Yashasvi apologised to Ruturaj. He said sorry for a mix-up with Ruturaj in the first T20I in Visakhapatnam, which led to the right-hander’s run-out.
“It was my mistake. I went to him and said sorry. (Marcus) Stoinis was between me, I was sure but then not sure. I made the wrong call. It was my mistake in the last game. I accepted my mistake. Rutu bhai is so humble and very caring,” Yashasvi said during the post-match presentation.
“I accepted that it was a mistake and it happens. Rutu bhai was humble and said in the gym that next time we are running, we will take secure singles,” he said.
India, who are leading the five-match series 2-0, will take on Australia in the third match at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Tuesday.
